Skeet Range Construction

A major capital improvement project has been undertaken by the club to replace the deteriorating skeet ranges. This page provides a serial update on the status of this work.

Work started on Monday, August 21 on the removal of the old skeet buildings, construction of the new skeet buildings and skeet fields. The contractors are making very significant progress. The buildings and fences are down and the excavations for the the new foundations are complete and some grading has started. We will keep you posted on the progress.

Monday, September 11th: Work is progressing on the skeet buildings. We had an inspection today, for coating the foundations of the skeet buildings and fill in the foundations with stone. We will be ready then for the next course of blocks.

Excavating fill from the rifle range at the 200 yard line area is moving along. The fill will be used to grade the front the of skeet & trap range area and help with the final grading.
It should be noted that so far no evidence of a ledge has been seen in any of the rifle range excavation, only a few rocks (the largest of which is trash can sized) so that future excavation out to the 200 yard line looks quite feasible.
